Rooms
Room Type Management
The room types are sent up to iQ-WebBook through the OTA/XML Sellable Products message. You cannot add new room types inside here, you must do so through iQ-WorldLink. You can, however, modify the settings and attach pictures by selecting Edit.
Room Details
Any changes made here will be modify if the Sellable Products message is sent up from the Property Management System. If you make any changes to the Extended Description, you must check the "Lock automatic changes of Extended Description from remote site". We highly recommend reformatting the Extended Description using HTML, bullets, bold, spacing, etc. so it looks nice and elegant.
Pictures
Attach pictures of the room here. When attaching pictures, please follow these recommendations:
-
All pictures should be 960 x 640 in size.
-
All pictures should be either PNG or JPG format only.
-
Do not upload pictures greater than 125K to make the booking process as efficient as possible.
-
The first picture should be specific to the bed/sleeping area and then subsequent pictures around the room (kitchen, patio, living room, etc.)
-
For standard rooms, no more than 3 photos
-
For extended rooms, no more than 5 photos
-
IMPORTANT: Try and have the same number of photos for all standard rooms and the same for extended rooms. It is not wise to have say 7 pictures for your KING room, 3 for your QUEEN room and 1 for your Double. To the guest, it looks like you have less care about your Double Room, or that it is a misfit room or a low priority to you. You want your guests to feel that all rooms are important and that all guests in all rooms will receive the same treatment and priority and service.
-
All pictures should have captions - and the beginning of the capture should be the room type and the second part the description. For example, the caption should be:
-
King Bed Room - King Bed
-
King Bed Room - Living Room
-
King Bed Room - Bathroom
-
Queen Bed Room - Queen Bed
-
Queen Bed Room - Living Room
-
Queen Bed Room - Entrance Way
-
Notice that the caption contains the proper and consistent name of the room, a dash, and then the specific portion of the room the picture is referring to. It is very important to do this, so it looks proper in the Photo Gallery.
-
Make everything consistent. The pictures of the same value, the text of the same value, the placement of the same value.
-
CHECK YOUR SPELLING! Your guests are going to see this.
