Before Starting

Before starting with iQ-WebBook, it is very important that your Property Management System (roomMaster) has the correct information in certain areas before it is sent up. Communication between your Property Management System (roomMaster) and iQ-WebBook is done through the iQ-WorldLink application. The InnQuest Software installer will set this up for you when they begin your installation, but if the information is wrong or incomplete, it will cause issues with your Hotel Booking Engine.

So, if you are JUST getting started, please go to roomMaster in the following areas and make sure the information is perfect.

  1. In Setup / Configuration / Reservations / Room Types
  • Make sure all the Size Measurements are correct. (ie: 420 square feet) Do not abbreviate and spell it out and make sure all room types are consistent.
  • Make sure all the Descriptions are very nice and proper as you want them seen by guests.
  • Make sure all the Max Adults, Max Child and Max People are correct
  • Make sure all the Amenity Types are all accurate such as Rollaway, Crib, Balcony, Kitchen, etc.
  1. In Setup / Configuration / Reservations / Rate Information / Setup Rate Codes ...
  • Make sure the Short Description, Long Description, Deposit Requirements and Web Description is exactly how you want to appear and seen by guests.
  • Make sure the Rate Usage (such as Common Popular, Normal and Group Rate) is correct.
  • Make sure the Hotel Booking Rules (Restrictions and Closed) is correct.
  1. In Setup / Configuration / System / Advanced Options and Settings
  • Make sure that "Uses iQ-WebBook" is set to Yes
  1. In Setup / Configuration / iQ-WebBook / Addons

  • If you will be selling AddOns / Shopping Cart items, make sure all your items are in here before Installations starts setting you up. When you create each AddOn, make sure that each ENTRY is by 5's or by 10's and NOT by 1's. This allows you to easily insert other Addon's at a later point without losing the attachment to the pictures.

  • Note: PLEASE read the online help for AddOns/Shopping Cart items before entering your information so that it is entered properly. Please pay close attention to "Group Header" and doing it properly.

Common Mistakes people make when setting up iQ-WebBook​

  1. The banner header is not properly styled or sized. Please review the exact size and style before uploading a banner header picture. It must show properly for Web and Mobile and resize properly.
  2. Too many pictures of one room but not many of another. Keep the same number of pictures (2 or 3) for each room.
  3. Proper sequencing of rooms. Be sure to put your lower priced or more popular rooms first with your ADA and less desirable rooms last.
  4. Do not put duplicate information on the page or mix content. For example, put the Policies in the Hotel Policies only - do not put Hotel Policies in your room type descriptions.
  5. The Photo Gallery should only contain non-room pictures. The room pictures will automatically show at the bottom of the Photo Gallery, when turned on.
