Reopen a Task
The Reopen Task feature allows housekeeping managers to return previously completed or cancelled tasks back to active status when additional work is required. This functionality ensures that all necessary housekeeping operations are properly addressed and maintains the integrity of your task management workflow.
When Reopening is Available
The reopen option is only available in two specific scenarios:
- Cancelled Task - When a task has been cancelled but is now needed again
- Completed Task - When a completed task requires additional work or attention
In these cases, a "Reopen" button will appear in the room details, allowing you to reactivate the task and assign it to housekeeping staff.
Steps to Reopen a Task
- Navigate to the rooms tab
- Select the room with the task to reopen
- Open the Room Details
- Tap the "Reopen" button
- You can reopen it and assign it to the same person or change assignee
- You can also leave a comment on why you are reopening it
What Happens When a Task is Reopened
- Status Update - Task status changes to "Open" or "In Progress"
- Task Assignment - Task returns to active task lists
- Task History - Reopening is recorded with timestamp and reason
- Assignment Options - You can keep the same assignee or assign to someone else

- Reopen tasks promptly when needed
- Provide clear reasons for reopening
