Cancel a Task

The Cancel Task feature provides housekeeping managers with the ability to remove tasks from the active workflow when specific conditions are met. This functionality helps maintain accurate task management and ensures that only relevant tasks remain in the system.

When Cancellation is Available

The cancel option is only available in two specific scenarios:

  • Failed Inspection - When a task has failed inspection and needs to be removed from the workflow
  • Incomplete Task - When a task has been marked as incomplete and should be cancelled

In these cases, a "Cancel" button will appear in the room details, allowing you to remove the task from the active list.

Steps to Cancel a Task

  1. Navigate to the rooms tab
  2. Select the room with the task to cancel
  3. Open the Room Details
  4. Tap the "Cancel" button
  5. Fill in the reason why the task will be cancelled then click cancel

What Happens When a Task is Cancelled

  • Status Update - Task status changes to "Cancelled"
  • Task Removal - Task is removed from active task lists
  • Task History - Cancellation is recorded with timestamp

Best Practices

  • Cancel tasks promptly when no longer needed
  • Provide clear reasons for cancellation
  • Review cancellations regularly
  • Communicate with housekeeping staff about changes
