Change Audit Date

Setup > Configuration > Guest Ledger > Change Audit Date

The Audit Date field displays the current date the system is using as the current business day. The Audit Date is automatically changed to the following date at the end of each Dayend Close. If your property is open year round, it is very unlikely this option needs to be used other than when roomMaster is first installed or ready to go live. Seasonal properties may use it to re-open each year and bring the audit date forward to the current date.

The Change Audit Date option:

  • can only be used by a user with supervisor-level access.

  • can only be completed if there are no transactions in the Journal, i.e no postings have been made.

  • cannot be changed to a date that has transactions posted to it.

  • is logged to the Event Log when the audit date is changed.

If you do not run a seven day a week operation, you should still run a Dayend Close for every day of the week. If you are not open 24 hours a day, it is recommended to run a Dayend Close before leaving for the day, or when you reopen the next morning. For more information, see Non-24 hour sites.

When changing the Audit date, it is very important to have everyone out of roomMaster. If the Audit Date is changed while another user is making changes in the Configuration screen, the changes made will not be saved, and will need to be re-entered.
