  • Atlas KABA/ILCO

The interface will be able to:

  • Send checkin messages to the Keylock computer to create up to 4 cards
  • Send a checkout message to the Keylock computer
  • Create one-shot keys
  • Assign up to three different rooms on the same keycard
  • Send an expiration date and time to the keycard
  • Assign up to 8 authorizations to the keycard. These authorizations are on the global level, not the room level.

Note: Keycards can only be created for rooms setup in the roomMaster system. Master Keys or keys to specific closets or other special non-rentable rooms cannot be made with roomMaster.

Writing Additional Tracks on key card

iQ-Keylocks writes the Folio Number prefixed with "IQ" to the optional track on the key card. This is used in iQ-POS to allow the server to swipe the VING key card for bill-to-room charges. Some Ving encoders do not have the ability to write to the optional track, causing the encoder to error out when writing the card. You must check the Do not send optional track data checkbox in the Keylock Processor Setup screen to stop the device from erroring out. An example of an encoder which cannot write to the optional tracks is Ving Encoder EST-4902 using Serial.

Using the Interface

The interface window will pop up during the checkin process. The user only has to select the number of keys they wish to make. The user will then simply insert and remove the keycards. They do not have to press any buttons on the Keylock computer or the encoder.

You can run keylock functions:

  • Automatically during the checkin process
  • From the Guest Folio (highly recommended for security purposes)
  • From the Room Properties window
  • From the menu bar at the top of the screen. (not recommended because the clerk has no way to verify that the room key being made is for the right person)

Terminal Services

iQ-Keylocks will not open when accessed through Terminal Services. The reason for this is iQ-Keylocks usually runs on the server and users will access Terminal Services through the server as well. iQ-Keylocks is only needed to run once, and usually not when the terminal services user is logging in. If you need to open iQ-Keylocks in terminal services, you can override this behavior by adding an entry to the registry below or using the /ts switch.

Folder:
REG_LOCAL_MACHINE

Key:
SOFTWARE\InnQuest Software\roomMaster\SkipKeyTermCheck

Value:
1

NOTE: If you are running iQ-Keylocks as a converted service (officially unsupported by InnQuest), you can use the /silentmode command-line switch to suppress Password and Exit prompts for a silent close down event.
