iQ-Currency

The iQ-Currency interface will connect to an external web service to update your Foreign Currency Exchange rates automatically when desired.

Google and Bloomberg seem to be the most reliable and fastest.

To configure the interface, select Setup > Configuration > Manage > External Interfaces > iQ-Currency.

Options

Web Service to Use - Select which web service to use. It is recommended when setting up the interface that you review each of the options as different services update their rates on different schedules as well as base their rates on different banks. We recommend using TheMoneyConverter and GoCurrency as a primary service. You can change the selection at anytime. (We find Google gives better rates to the customer)

All services use the standard Currency Code as dictated by ISO 4217. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_4217

All interfaces use this code and they must match.

Max Decimal Places - Normally the Exchange services will send up to seven decimal places for a currency, however, you may want to adjust for only 3 or 4 so it is easier to present to the guest. This is completely up to you.

Run Automatically after Dayend Close - By selecting this option, the person running the dayend close will be prompted at the end of it to link and update the currencies.

Show Currency Update option on Foreign Currency Setup - Check this box to allow the user to update the currency through-out the day from the** Back Office > Foreign Currency Setup** menu option.

Show Currency Update option on Foreign Currency Window - Check this box to allow the user to update the currency through-out the day when posting transactions and accessing the Foreign Currency Conversion window.
