Special Packages

Setup > Configuration > Reservations > Special Packages

roomMaster gives you the ability to add a special package to your folios or reservations. With the Special Packages feature, you can easily create multiple package deals for your guests increasing the chance for more revenue while simplifying Special Package administration. The option is located in Setup > Configuration > Reservations > Special Packages.

Package Type​

The Package Type drop down box allows you to pick which broad category the Special Package belongs to. Available options include: Attractions, Events and Shows, Golf Package, Meal Package, Sight Seeing, Special Package, Sports Package, Transportation Package and Wedding Package.

Description​

The Description field is a text entry field where you can provide a descriptive name for the Package that you are working with.

Special Note​

The Special Note field is a text entry field where you can provide a note about the Package that will be seen by your property's staff as they search the Daily Charges and Packages screen looking for a particular Package.

Prompt user for date range when selecting this package​

This checkbox enables the Date Range pop up box to appear when a User is adding a package to a folio or reservation. The box will show the dates of stay for the selected folio or reservation as well as offer two date fields so that the user may select the date range that the selected package will be in effect for the guests stay.

Package Availability​

The Package Availability fields allow you the enter the beginning and end dates that the Special Package will be available to your guests. If you would like the Special Package to always be available, then leave these fields blank. The guest stay must be fully inclusive of these dates for them to be available. If the special package is only available for a certain Rate Type, use the drop down box to select the Rate Type. leave blank or select *ALL if the package is available for all rate types.

Package Details Options​

The Insert, Change and Delete buttons affect the Package Details list.

Type​

Click on the magnifying glass to choose the account code you wish to add.

Amount​

Type in the Amount to charge for the item or service and the type of charge to use.

Voucher​

Type in the name for a Voucher field or leave this field blank.

Pick Valid Days​

Check each box for the day of the week that the item should be allowed to post.

Night to Start Posting​

Type in the number of the day that this item should start posting in the package. Example: To start posting this item the first day that the package is in effect, type in number 1. If the item should not start posting until the third day, enter the number 3.

Post one time only​

Check this box to force the item to charge one time only.

Roll in to Package rate​

Check this box if you would like to hide the individual price of the item you are adding to the package. If you choose "Roll Up" on multiple entries, all entries checked will be combined on the guest folio and the amount will also be combined. This is used when you want to combine a group of entries and not display the individual prices to the guest. Usually, packages shown to the guest are inclusive of all the items which make up the price, so it is recommended to check this box.

Adding a Special Package to a Folio or Reservation​

From a reservation or guest folio properties screen, select the More Options button and then select Daily Charges and Packages. If the screen does not show any Packages, there are no packages available or have not been setup.

The top portion of the screen shows which items belong to the current guest and the bottom portion shows the optional packages that are available. You can drag any item from the bottom portion to the top portion, or use the Add/Remove buttons located on the bottom right of the screen.
