Rate Adjustments
The Rate Adjustment allows you to make minor changes to the rate for a particular day and Rate Type. This option should be not used to create and set rates on a normal level, as it will be extremely inefficient. This option is to allow management to change the daily rate of the rates for today or this week, or a few tweaks in the future. In addition, the main purpose of this option is to interface with External Yielding systems (Duetto, RevPar Guru, Ideas, etc.) where an external system will be creating single day rate modifications.
Entering a Rate Adjustment will change the rate for the current day and ignore all Rates, Exceptions, Yielding and Discounting options. It's simply a way to set a RoomType/Date combination for a High Level Override.
Again, please do not use this function to setup your daily rates. Use Setup > Configuration > Reservations > Rate Information and use the Rates and Rate Exceptions.
When entering a Rate Adjustment, you only need to enter the Single Occupancy rate. The 2 Adults and higher will automatically be calculated against what the rate increases are for that particular Rate Type and follow the same pricing structure. For example, if there is a $10 increase for 3 adults and $20 increase for 4 adults set on the rate record for that date, and you are entering a rate adjustment, the amount that you enter will be the same for 2 adults and increase by $10 for 3 adults and $20 for 4 adults.
There must be a rate record in place for any date/room type combination where you are entering a Rate Adjustment. You must also have Yielding turned on.
To enter a Rate Adjustment, select F4-Availability and then select By Room Number. Once a Rate Type (Show Rates) is showing a rate, right-click on the cell and select Adjust Rate. To see all rate adjustments, you can select Setup > Configuration > Reservations > Rate Information > Yield Management and then Display Active Rate Adjustments.
For more information on a supported Yielding interface, see the following partners on the web:
- RevPAR Guru
- Ideas
- Duetto
The iQ-WorldLink interface is required to accept rate / yielding changes from these partners and insert them into roomMaster.
Note: The system does not allow more than 128 yielding profiles.
