Restrictions

In this section, you can enter the Booking Window and Global minimum / maximum night(s) stay for a reservation using this rate code.

Global Stay Restrictions (Reservations) - The amounts entered here are applied to reservations made in roomMaster. If a reservation is entered with nights that are outside the minimum or maximum nights, it can only be completed by entering the override password. A red X will appear next to the nights field on a reservation when a number of nights either below the minimum or above the maximum is entered.

Global Stay Restrictions (WorldLink) - The amounts entered here are applied to reservations made through Webbook. A prompt box will appear if the user tries to make a reservation for nights less than or greater than the minimum and maximum set for the rate code. The stay restrictions are also sent to any Global Distribution System(GDS) you are interfaced with through WorldLink.

Booking Window

(Optional) - Enter a Minimum Days Out and Maximum Days Out (booking window) based on the CheckIn Date that a new reservation can be entered. This affects new reservations entered or reservations were the Rate Code is changed. Entering zero (0) will be skipped / have no effect. Rates outside of the Booking Window are considered "Closed" in the F4-Availability window. This information can be sent to the GDS/Channels through iQ-WorldLink if the channel supports it through Hotel Booking Rules. (HBR).

IF THE GLOBAL MIN AND MAX STAY ARE BOTH SET TO ZERO, THEN NO GLOBAL OR INDIVIDUAL RESTRICTIONS WILL BE SENT TO THE GDS.

An example for restrictions could be if you run a summer special that has a three night minimum, but no more than a week, regardless of the day of the week the guest arrives.

In additional to global stay restrictions for a Rate Code, date-specific minimum length of stay requirements can be configured. Only one entry per date/rate code combination is permitted.

Two option are available to specify how date-specific minimums are applied to reservations:

  • Based on Stay Through - Every stay date for the reservation is checked that it meets each minimum night restriction.

  • Based on Arrival Date - Only the CheckIn date is checked that it meets the minimum night restriction. This is a more simplified approach and more commonly used.

These options may be found by going to Setup > Rates Management > Setup Rate Codes > Defaults for LOS Restrictions.

NOTE: If you send these restrictions to your GDS provider (IQ-WorldLink), the way the restriction is checked is based on how your GDS provider checks the dates, NOT by this setting. This setting only affects Normal Bookings and WebBook bookings.

Insert Multiple Date Range - Use this option to create multiple LOS (Length of Stay) restrictions. Select a Lower and Higher date range, which days of the week are affected and the Stay Restriction Parameters.
