Display Rates

You can utilize the Display Rates screen by pressing F6 or by clicking Front Desk > Display Rates.

The display rates screen will display currently available rates based on the selection criteria set in the Rate options section of the Display Rates screen.

Rate Options

The Rate Options Section allows you to select the following items to filter what data will appear in the main display rate window:

  • From - This field is the beginning date for the relevant rates that will appear in the Display Rates screen.

  • To - This field is the ending date for the relevant rates that will appear in the Display Rates screen.

  • Adults - This field allows you to select the number of Adults staying in the room.

  • Child - This field allows you to select the number of Children staying in the room.

  • Room Type - This field allows you to sort the relevant rates that will appear in the Display Rates window for one specific room type or select *ALL for all room types.

You may click on any column header to sort the current rate data by that column. (Room Type, Rate Code, Description, Rate 1, Rate 2, Total Stay, Avg Night)

At the bottom of the Display Rates screen you will see some additional checkbox options that allow you to further filter the rate data that will appear on the Display Rate screen:

  • Ignore Comp Rates - This checkbox will remove rates for room types which have a total zero value.

  • Rack Rates Only - This checkbox will display the default rate code entered in Setup > Configuration > Reservations.

  • Daily Rates Only - This checkbox will only allow daily rates to appear.

  • Check Availability - This checkbox sorts so that rooms must be available for the entire stay in order for the room type and rate code to appear.

  • Calculate Total Stay - This checkbox will add the Total Stay column to the Display Rates screen. This checkbox is variable and may or may not appear on your screen depending on the current status of your computer. For more information, see Important Information About Speed.

The New Reservation button at the bottom of the Display Rates screen will start a New Reservation window for you and will carry over the details selected on the Display Rates screen.

The Details button at the bottom of the Display Rates screen will open a new window with more specific information about the rate that is currently highlighted in the Display Rates screen. You may also double click on the highlighted rate to open the Rate Detail screen. The Notes tab displays notes and the Deposit Terms entered for the rate code. The text is colored red when information has been added to the rate code. The Rate Closures tab gives a listing of dates the rate is closed, the effective date for the closure and where the closure is applied: roomMaster, WebBook, or WorldLink. The Rate Closures text will only appear in red if the dates selected are within a closed date range for the rate. The Yield Management tab gives the yielding details for the rate for the dates selected.

Display Rates and Computer Speed

The Rate Display window will simulate a daily posting for each room/rate type that appears in the Display Rates screen. If you have many rates, or a long date range, this may considerably slow down your computer. Depending on the number of rates, room types, date range and computer equipment, the time to display the screen will vary.

If it takes more than 7.5 seconds to display the information, you will be prompted to turn off the "Total Stay" functions to speed up the window.
