Printing

Selecting the right printer is very important. You want to find a printer that will print good quality and produce fast enough. Desk jet printers are cheaper, but can take a while to print. Laser printers are a little more expensive but print faster with better quality. Regardless of the type of printer, it needs to have a minimum of 8mb of RAM to work properly with roomMaster.

If you find your folio is taking too much time to print, select Tools & Utilities > Print Setup and change the Printer Properties Resolution to 300dpi instead of 600dpi. Another option is to select Setup > Configuration > Folio Setup and select Simple layout with no special fonts.

You should not use Dot Matrix printer when using roomMaster.

Color and Bubblejet printers run very slow and take up much memory. Running these printers can cause frozen computers which in turn can corrupt your database files.

Getting unwanted Multiple Copies of reports

If the system is printing multiple copies (more than one), check that the number of copies default is set properly. When the report preview window is displayed, select the Copies button at the top of the screen and make sure the checkbox is on one. If not, select it and then the system will only print one copy of each report.

Troubleshooting

If you are unable to print, please follow these steps:

  1. Turn the printer off and the back on.

  2. Make sure there is enough ink, paper and that the printer is online.

  3. Try printing using another application. (such as Microsoft Word or Notepad). If you cannot print in either of these programs, the issue is not with roomMaster but most likely with your computer or printer. In this case, InnQuest Software support cannot help you. Contact your computer administrator or IT professional for assistance.

  4. If you are able to print in another application, make sure roomMaster is redirecting to the right printer. You can do this by selecting Tools & Utilities > Print Setup. Select the Reset to Default option, then close, then exit roomMaster. Return back to roomMaster and try printing again.
