Reports
roomMaster groups the reports into different categories on the reports screen, which are displayed in a Tree-Like form. Each category can be secured from each user so they only have access to certain categories. These security settings are located on the Reports tab of each user profile in Setup > User Profiles. It is recommended that you secure each category of the reports by user, so for example, Desk Clerks do not have access to run Accounting reports. See User Profile security for more information on restricting access to report categories.
To access the Reports menu, click on Tools & Utilities > Reports Menu, press Ctrl + R, or click on Reports in the icon bar.
Within the reports menu, there are three types of reports:
- Reports
- Charts/Graphs
- Custom Reports
Go to Tools & Utilities > Print Setup to change the printer properties in roomMaster. If specific printer is not selected, the reports will use the default printer setup in Windows. If you change the default printer in Windows, you must exit roomMaster and come back in for the changes to take effect.
Once in the reports menu, expand the category and then select the report or function you wish to run. On most reports, a selection parameters screen will appear prompting you to fill in the parameters of producing the report. The report is first previewed on the screen before you can print it. You can also PDF the report and email it. Click here for more information. Select reports also offer the option to export to a CSV format to allow opening the data in Excel (note that this is not available on every report.)
Properties - The properties button allows you to change the name of the report or select to print the report automatically during dayend close.
Add to Favorites - You can select a report and then press Add to Favorites to add a report you commonly run to your My Favorites tab in the Reports menu. You can also access your favorites by clicking on the drop down arrow below the Reports icon in the main tool bar. Different favorite reports can be set for each user profile. You can only control your own reports which appear in this group. If you wish to reset this list, select the User Icon > User Settings > Reset Report Favorites. You are also able to remove individual reports from your favorites list byt right-clicking on the header row on the report window (where it displays "Report Tree") and selecting Show Favorites from the window. This will display your current favorites on the right. Remove one by right-clicking on it and selecting Remove Favorite. Additional options available include displaying reports run today or reports set to autorun.
