EPI - Phone Extension Conversions

In some cases, your phone extensions may be different than how they are described in roomMaster. In other cases, you may have two or more phones in a room which need to correspond to roomMaster. The conversions are handled in two different places.

SMDR/Phone Call Data/Posting Phone Calls

The system uses the Override Extensions to convert any phone extension coming FROM the phone system to the roomMaster room number. You can have an unlimited number of entries in this table for each room.

Example: Extension 1201 goes to roomMaster 201 Extension 7201 goes to roomMaster 201

Bi-directional messages (turning phones on and off, voice mail, keylocks, etc)

The system uses the Phone Extension and the Data Extension fields located in the room information screens. In addition, you can define whether to use the room number, phone extension and/or data extension in the External Interface Setup screen for each interface. If neither Phone Extension nor the Data Extension is checked, the room number in roomMaster is used.

Example: roomMaster room is 201

Phone Extension is 1201 Data Extension is 7201

Both 1201 and 7201 are turned on if you have a valid bi-directional interface and the interfaces are turned on.

Note: If you have SMDR data and Bi-directional data, you may have to make override entries in both places for your system to function properly.
