EPI - Lodgenet / Otrum
EPI Bi-Directional will work with both Lodgenet and Otrum to confirm movie privileges and display folio information to the television. Both interfaces work when the Interface "Lodgenet/Otrum Video CheckOut" is selected and attached to the proper interface.
Setting up Special Formulas ...
When checking guests and allowing certain movie privileges, each property may want the system to behave differently. Using the Special Formula field, you can enter a value to dictate to the system how to behave:
The Lodgenet and Otrum system determines at CheckIn, if paid-movies are allowed depending on either individual selection or the "Payment Type" of the guest.
Individual Selection
If you want the clerk/user checking in the guest to manually select whether or not to allow movies, use the Optional Checkbox (Setup > Configuration > Guest Ledger > Optional Checkbox) and then place either a "Y" or an "N" in the "Opt Checkbox" field in Setup > Configuration > Manage > External Interfaces > Lodgenet. Place an N in the first field (off) and a Y in the second field (on).
- If you use "Individual Selection", and the folio is set to not allow movies, the following flags ARE NOT CHECKED and movies are not allowed. If you use "Individual Selection", and the folio is set to allow movies, the following flags (if used) are also checked.
Automatic Selection based on Payment/Guarantee Type*
You can also use the following special formula flags which instruct roomMaster to enable/disable movies automatically by payment/guarantee type or the Charge Incidentals flag.
-
Leaving the Special Formula blank, the system will ALWAYS allow movies to be viewed regardless of guarantee type or Charge Incidentals flag.
-
If you enter /HOLD, the system will look at the folio properties hold type to determine if movies can be viewed. Any hold type of "None" will disallow movies.
-
If you enter /INC, the system will look at the sub-folio hold type properties which is the incidental folio first, and then if blank, use the main folio properties hold type.
-
If you enter /FLAG, the system will look only at the Charge Incidentals Flag.
In addition, the Otrum movie system will determine how "Adult" movies are allowed in the room under certain conditions. If the checkin message has determined above that the guest does not have paid-movie privileges, then the following will be ignored.
-
If you enter /OTRUM-ALL, adult movies are always allowed, regardless of the number of adult and children in the room.
-
If you enter /OTRUM-NOADULT, all adult movies will be disallowed.
-
If you enter /OTRUM, the system will automatically disallow adult movies if there are children in the room (determined by the CHILD field). If the Charge Incidentals flag is set to False (Unchecked), it will also disallow Adult Movies.
Both sets of options can be combined, so for example, if you enter "/INC /OTRUM" in the Special Formula field, the system will act accordingly to the above two rules.
Folio Display
Folio transactions will be displayed on the television if you have the feature enabled by your vendor. If there are shares in the room, the user will be prompted to pick which of the shared folio you wish to display. All folios (A through D) are displayed.
However, in Sign-in Sheet Setup, if you have selected to Hide the Rate for Travel Agents, Groups and Direct Bills, and the guest is as-such, only the incidental sub-folio transactions will be displayed to the guest.
-
If you enter "/DSPINC" on the Special Formula field, ONLY the incidental sub-folio will be displayed for all guests.
-
If you enter "/HIDEONLYA" on the Special Formula field, ONLY the "A" sub-folio will be hidden for guests who's rate should be hidden (TA/Groups/Direct Bills) and all other sub-folios will be displayed, regardless of what is set as the incidental folio.
