EPI - Housekeeping
Most housekeeping systems that can interface with EPI use housekeeping codes that may be unique to that particular system. For example, the Mitel 1103/2103 dataset uses the following default codes from the room's phone (*81 *82 *83 *84 *85 *86) These are feature access codes. These numbers, when dialed from the room, are intercepted by your dataset hardware which will then determine the process codes to be sent to EPI. The process codes are preset and hardcoded in EPI and are usually set to fall between codes 1 through 6. These numbers represent the different statuses (maid in room, room clean , room requires service, room dirty, occupied, unavailable) that may be available. A standard message that EPI would expect to receive could be STX q/STS2F which indicates a vacant room. Once EPI receives that data string, it will change the room status to vacant in roomMaster.
Please be aware that your phone vendor will be the best source for determining which feature codes are in use on your specific hardware at your property. Some systems do allow customized codes and your system may have been set to use codes that are different than their normal defaults.
InnQuest Software does not have to ability to find these codes for you if they are set differently then the hardware's known defaults.
