EPI (External Posting Interface)
The External Posting Interface(EPI) module is a separately purchased module from InnQuest Software. Once it is purchased, you will receive a registration code to enter into roomMaster to activate EPI. You are able to setup EPI without a registration code, however, the interface will not run until a registration code is entered.
The EPI bridges the gap between your site's other data systems and roomMaster. Phone calls, in-room movies, and restaurant bills from your existing systems can automatically post to roomMaster. In fact EPI can run up to 8 connections at one time.
Control call pricing
EPI can also price your phone calls, eliminating the need for a separate call accounting device. Using EPI to price your calls allows you to update rates instantly, saving you hundreds of dollars. You also have the ability to rate calls for an unlimited number of area codes, dialed digits, regions, and countries.
Flexible call routing
The system can override extensions to room numbers, skip posting of management or administrative phone calls, or track administrative phone calls -- it's easy to make comparisons to your phone bill to see the phone revenue for your property!
Many different Interfaces
Like roomMaster, the External Posting Interface is flexible and powerful. EPI can be configured to read data in a variety of formats through serial interfaces and network files and receive the data via serial or TCP/IP connections. One Way Interfaces post charges directly to the guest bill. Bi-Directional Interfaces, in addition to posting charges directly to the guest bill, handle other interfaces such as turning phones on and off, monitoring wake-up calls and updating housekeeping statuses.
Tons of features
Other features include call audits, reports, discounts and markups, minimum call duration, and room overrides. You are also able to mark rooms as clean, dirty and unavailable via the telephone in the room and store messages from the phone system such as when the guest does not answer their wakeup call. A window can even pop-up when a guest does not answer their wakeup call after three attempts.
Purchasing EPI
For more information or to purchase EPI, contact your local InnQuest Software representative.
Terminal Services
EPI will not open when accessed through Terminal Services. The reason for this is EPI usually runs on the server and users will access Terminal Services through the server as well. EPI is only needed to run once, and usually not when the terminal services user is logging in. If you need to open EPI in terminal services, you can override this behavior by adding an entry to the registry below or using the /ts switch.
Folder: REG_LOCAL_MACHINE
Key: SOFTWARE\InnQuest Software\roomMaster\SkipEPITermCheck
Value: 1
NOTE: If you are running EPI as a converted service (officially unsupported by InnQuest), you can use the /silentmode command-line switch to suppress Password and Exit prompts for a silent close down event.
Password Protection
Password protection of EPI (Configuration and Closing Down) can be done through Setup > Configuration > Manage > External Interfaces
