Exclusive Access / Journal Access

To run certain functions, no one can be using roomMaster. You must have everyone out of roomMaster including Point of Sale Users. It is ok to keep the EPI (Phone Interface) running, but check it to make sure there is no error message on it.

There are certain times that Windows may keep a file opened or in-use, even though all users are completely out of roomMaster. To clear this error, you must reboot your server - this is the main computer where roomMaster is installed. When you reboot your server, it will always correct the problem and you will be able to continue with the function you are trying to perform.

Select Night Audit > Current Active Users and then the Database Connections tab. Any entry listed that does not start with a % sign is an active user that must be shut-down.

Access Error in JOURNAL when attempting dayend close

If you receive an access error in JOURNAL which does not allow you to proceed with the dayend close, this usually because of an error in EPI - Try shutting EPI (the phone system program) down and restarting it.

Usually, if you have not seen this issue before and you are seeing it now, you are probably doing the audit earlier and later than normal, and it is at this time, your file server is performing system maintenance which has locked some roomMaster files.
