Getting Started
This section will help you get started quickly using the iQ-POS software. It is intended to offer a quick overview of the basic features of iQ-POS. For more information, see the help page for the specific item.
Installation
To operate iQ-POS, a passcode provided by InnQuest Software is required. roomMaster and iQ-POS share information such as account codes and communicate with each other for features such as Bill to Room and End of Day. iQ-POS is networked in the same way as roomMaster.
It is recommended to run iQ-POS on a monitor running 1024x768 resolution with Small Fonts (the Windows default font setting). It can be run at a greater resolution for administrative duties (anything in Maintenance or End of Day), but the terminal screen is designed to be run at 1024x768 exactly. It can also be run at 800x600 resolution, but the Speed Key Feature would not be available.
All options in the Workstation Settings menu are stored on the workstation level. This means you will need to configure them on each computer you want to use iQ-POS. This includes the property information and passcode. The system does not allow you to run more than one copy of iQ-POS if it is not registered, so to enter in passcodes on new workstations, you will need to open iQ-POS on one computer at a time and put in the registration information on each one. Be sure that your property information is entered exactly as it appears on your invoice or it will not accept your registration.
