Kitchen/Bar Printing
We recommend using an Epson TM-T88 series or Epson TMU 200 as a receipt printer. The system is setup to use an internal printer font of "16 cpi". If this internal font does not exist on your printer, it will use the default font.
You can have a different receipt printer for each workstation. Select Maintenance > Configurations and Settings > Workstation Settings > Printer Setup to select a printer(s) to use for the workstation. The printer should be a Windows XP or better defined printer.
InnQuest Software only supports receipt printers purchased directly from InnQuest Software.
About Kitchen Printing …
Kitchen printing allows the iQ-POS workstations to print (drop) orders to the kitchen, bar and other locations in the establishment.
What is needed …
Extended iQ-POS is required to allow Kitchen Printing. Contact your local InnQuest Software representative for more information.
A receipt printer (TMU-200 or TMT88) should be located at each location. You can have an unlimited number of printers. If you plan on having a printer in an area that is over 85 degrees F, you should use the TMU-200 impact printer and not the Thermal Printer.
Connection of kitchen/bar printers …
Each printer must be connected to a computer or print manager that is part of the roomMaster network. If the printer is not connected directly to the computer, it needs to be shared to be viewed by other computers. The connection is done though a serial or parallel interface. To access the drivers for Epson printers, go to Maintenance > Configuration and Settings > Printer Setup tab > Credit Card Processing and Receipt Printer Setup > General tab > Receipt Printer Drivers. The installation, setup and connection of printers are the responsibility of the property. If you do not have the expertise in doing this, consult a local IT professional for assistance.
Assignment of printers …
The computer running the iQ-POS Print Manager must have a network printer connection to each of the kitchen printers. Your computer technician should do this through the Control Panel, Printers, Add Network Printer in the Windows Operating System. Every printer that the print manager needs to access should be installed on the server or workstation the iQ-POS Print Manager is running on as a network (or local) printer.
Setting up the Point of Sale Print Manager
The iQ-POS Print Manager (psprint.exe) must run on the server or on one workstation in order to pass each order to the designated printer. It is preferable for this application to run on the server so as to remain running and untouched, or at one workstation in the restaurant where it can be accessed quickly.
