Print Manager

iQ-POS Extended Only

If you have purchased the extended version of iQ-POS, you have the ability to print orders to be prepared to kitchen or bar printers. This is not the same as a guest receipt. The order ticket that prints will have the server ID, hold ID, time printed, and a detailed item list showing everything ordered and all modifiers for each item. When you hold an order or finish an order without holding, the order will be sent to the print manager. Unless you specified a delay, the order will be printed right away. Otherwise, the order will be printed after the specified delay has passed.

iQ-POS Print Manager

The iQ-POS Print Manager handles the printing of orders. This program file is psprint.exe. This is where you define your line printers and view the print monitor, the program that monitors and executes print jobs. Before you set up where items will print, you must define your printers in the Print Manager program. Once you have defined your printers, you can set up which categories will print to which printer in the Category Information. If there are any items in a category that will not print to the same printer as the rest of the items in the category, you can define an Override Printer for the specific item.

There should only be one instance of this program running on your network. We recommend running it at one workstation in the restaurant (so you can easily manage it) or on the file server. Once it is running, there will be a light which indicates the status:

LightStatus
Red LightThe Print Manager is being shut-down because of a Dayend Close or there is an error which needs to be resolved.
Yellow LightThe Print Manager is starting up.
Green LightThe Print Manager is functioning normally and monitoring for orders (every 5 seconds)
Orange LightThe Print Manager is in "Sleep Mode" but still functioning normally and monitoring for orders (every 20 seconds) - Once it encounters an order, it will revert back to a green light and check every 5 seconds. This sleep mode occurs after 20 minutes of inactivity.
