Speed Keys
Speed Keys allow you to take your 15 most used items and display them on the main iQ-POS Terminal screen. These items are not "Time Table" dependent so the items you place here should be used for both morning and at night.
It is recommended to place soft drinks, coffee, tea here. If you are just doing dinner, it is a good idea to maybe put the appetizers or salads here to make entering orders very quick and streamlined. Bars should place the most popular beers and liquors here.
Speed keys are set both on the main category level as well as the Outlet level.
First, set the default speed keys for all terminals not assigned an Outlet:
Maintenance > Items and Inventory Setup > Categories & Menu Groups > Speed Keys
Next, set the speed keys for all terminals assigned to each Outlet:
Maintenance > Items and Inventory Setup > Outlet Identification > Speed Keys
Speed keys are assigned an index of 1 through 15, which indicate the placement on the screen starting with the first button and going top to bottom. Press Insert and enter the Placement, then use the drop down arrow to select the item for the speed key. Again, enter your most frequently used items as speed keys to make order entering faster.
Speed Keys only show when your iQ-POS monitor is set to 1024x768 or higher resolution. If you run iQ-POS in 800x600 mode, you will not have access to the Speed Keys.
It is recommended when setting up your monitor that the Windows TaskBar (at the bottom of your screen) is hidden when not active. You can do this by right-clicking on the Windows Taskbar, then selecting Properties > Auto-hide the taskbar.
