Polls

Prompt staff to answer user-defined survey questions with predefined answers at the start of an order for marketing and guest analysis. Survey results available via graphs and/or SQL Queries.

  • Polls can be limited to specific dates.
  • Polls can be limited to specific outlets and services.
  • Results can be shown in three charts: count, check value, weekday/weekend.
  • Reports can be written using Interactive SQL, and three sample queries are included in Version 16.

Use the following tables:

  • POSPOLLH POS Poll Header (The main poll record - one for each poll)
  • POSPOLLA POS Poll Answer (The answers that are valid for each poll - connect to POSPOLLH)
  • POSPOLLR POS Poll Results (The results for each poll that has been taken)

You can connect POSPOLLR (results) to POSHSTDT/POSHSTHD to see what exact items and value the checks were for the person who answered that answer for the poll. See the sample POS Poll Queries in the Sample Queries Folder (.qws) that can also be used.

Create and manage polls by going to Maintenance > Global Settings > Accounts/Discounts/Polls > Polls and Surveys.

The poll will come up when the order is being Finished, Paid or placed on hold.

General

Enter the Poll information and optional start and end dates the poll will come up. Be sure to check the Poll is Active box so the poll is in use.

Restrictions

Select which Outlets and Services the Poll will come up on. For example, if the question is "Age of Party?" and it's a Take Out order, it would be impossible to answer that poll so it shouldn't be launched for Take Out orders.

Answers

Enter from 1 to 12 answers that the user should select. Make the poll as simple to take as possible - it shouldn't be difficult for servers. The short answer appears in the graph results.
