Bar code Scanner Setup

A Bar code Scanner can be setup to "ring" items in iQ-POS. Please contact local InnQuest Software sales representative or email sales@innquest.com for more information on purchasing a Bar code Scanner.

After installing the bar code scanner using the Hardware/Programming installation instructions for your individual device, it then can be used to scan bar codes on individual items for sale in a Gift Shop or Retail environment. The items must be setup in iQ-POS as normal in Maintenance > Items and Inventory before the Bar code Scanner will work properly.

To setup items you wish the Bar code Scanner to be able "ring" you must enter the number that corresponds with the barcode of the item as the Item Number in the iQ-POS setup. See the Example below:

You cannot use the Bar code Scanner to enter the Item Number in the Setup of the item as there is a built in [CR] Carriage Return at the end of the scan which strikes the OK button during the item setup closing the record before completing. Please manually enter the item number.
